Shift Foreman

Solomon Coatings Ltd. requires a Shift Foreman within our Industrial Fleet Group (IFG). This position exists to provide effective support in the coordination and scheduling of activities in production to ensure customer projects and timelines are met in a cost efficient and safe manner. This position is expected to perform within and contribute to, the operational team goals and objectives to achieve profitability.

Major areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to):

Ensuring profitability for job projects.
Ensure timely completion and delivery of customers projects as scheduled.
Establish methods to meet work schedules and work activities with team and other groups (logistics, shipping, tool crib, etc.)
Works with staff to create a collaborative team environment.
Works with staff to resolve problems/concerns.
Orientates, coaches and mentors staff in job duties, processes and company policies.
Demonstrates commitment to, implements and enforces the Safety and Compliance programs.
As a working foreman, this position is also required to fill in on the shop floor when required due to workload requirements, absences, vacations, etc.
Ensures appropriate paints and equipment are available for projects.
Operates heavy equipment as required.

Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years industrial (mobile equipment) and/or automotive painting experience coupled with a minimum two (2) years sandblasting experience. Prior experience as a lead hand/foreman also required.

Candidates should also possess the following skills and abilities:

Exceptional customer service skills both relating to internal and external customers.
Sound time management and planning ability.
Strong communication skill and active listening skill.
Solid working knowledge of applicable paint and blast equipment.
Demonstrated ability to recognize inefficiencies and develop, recommend and implement better processes.
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff. Shows strong leadership ability - Leads by example.
Valid drivers' license and clean driver's abstract required.
